Why is low pH bad for a swimming pool?

Have you ever seen someone's swimsuit bleached after getting out of the pool or hot tub? This is likely caused from the pH being too low. Unfortunately a low pH doesn’t stop there, it can also cause problems to the hair, skin and eyes.

Damages to your pool or spa equipment can also occur when the pH is low because it can cause corrosion. This can be expensive to fix. On top of that, it can reduce the effectiveness of chlorine by allowing bacteria to flourish in the water.

It is important to keep your pH in balance in order to prolong the use of your expensive pool equipment and in order to keep your swimmers happy!
